Do I need a barre for the training? No. A sturdy chair approximately hip height will work nicely as an at home option.
Do I need to know how to belly dance to teach this format? No. While many professional belly dancers and dancers of all genres enjoy taking this training to support their dance classes and as an offering for their dance students, this method is successfully taught as a group fitness offering in fitness studios as well as virtually. Our method teaches both: how to stay true to fundamental belly dance techniques as a modern day wellness solution and barre fitness as a low impact results based program designed to condition and tone the entire body from top to toe. Each instructor has the option to "dial up or dial down" the varying belly dance progressions depending on their target audience. Barre fitness is great for the body as is belly dance, and the two together create a wonderful opportunity to keep our students dancer fit and flexible!
Do I need to be a Certified Group Fitness Instructor to teach? Not neccessarily. While there are many benefits to being a Certified Group Fitness instructor, many professional dancers and dance studio owners who are also trained in kinesiology and movement based sciences do very well teaching this method. However, having a CPR certificate is a must and being mindful of safety at all times is very important. Our job is to equip you to teach a safe & effective class with authentic RAQISA® belly dance technique. Passing our teaching test is a crucial part to our training to ensure all are set up for success!
What if I can not make my virtual training date? Will I get a full refund? Digital learning content is provided upon purchase. The best solution is to contact us to rescheduled for another training date and enjoy the learning content to further prepare you for your next training.
I am not a dancer or a fitness professional and I don't really intend to teach...but I really would like to learn for my own personal growth. Is that okay? Absolutely! We have had many who are enthusiasts of our brand simply join in for their own understanding of this method and because they love this brand! Doing this training has actually enhanced their own dance and fitness techniques!
What is a Master Instructor? How do I become one?
A Master Instructor is an important support to the RAQ THE BARRE® trainings and is a valued contributor of educational content which keeps consistent with the method. A Master Instructor is by invitation only and is measured by their outstanding performance during their training and their dedication to the brand. A Master Instructor is capable of leading an instructor training and provides support for testing.
Are there additional fees?
There is an optional annual $100.00 fee to use the logo and for additional support with access to more sample classes and learning as additional content to ensure you are growing as an instructor. Because this as an accredited fitness program, some will simply take the training to earn the CEUS towards their professional fitness certifications, which is no problem. 8 hours is generous for those who need CEUS...But having it as an accredited program is important because it helps gain recognition within the dance & fitness community and it ensures that it's been reviewed and approved by highly respected and recognized programs (American Council on Exercise & Aerobic Fitness Association of America). Our aim is that when one does the training, THEN follows up within three months to demonstrate a sample class and PASSES, and use the logo, we all have consistency; but above all we all have the same clear cut gold standard technique that demonstrates the quality of the method. This is a well thought out method with years (since 2013) of trial and error to create the solid format it is today! We want you to be successful and we aim to provide stellar support!
How long do I have after the training to test?
Approximately 3 months after the training mostly because if you delay, the reality is you will put it off, lose confidence, and forget important information. Those who go on to test and pass have done it within 3 months.
